A local care home runs an advert in my local paper ever week saying that it has been rated 3 stars excellent by the CQC.
Since then the home has been inspected by CQC under the new Review of Compliance system. The first inspection found concerns in several areas and a second inspection found that these had been addressed. So it's questionable whether the star rating that pre-dates these Review of Compliance inspections should be referred to at all any more.
We've written to the CQC about this and they have said that they will write to the home. Their line is that a home may advertise that they were previously awarded a star rating but not that they are currently.
